Shiatsu massage is an Eastern style of massage that works with the same energy meridians as acupressure. Shiatsu originated in Japan and has been practiced around the world since the 1970’s. This type of massage is practiced on a mat on the floor, and we recommend wearing loose-fitting clothes.

Shiatsu massage is used to release any blockages in your meridian pathways as well as to help stretch out the muscles. This is done by applying pressure to certain points on the body using thumbs, hands, knees, elbows, or feet. Shiatsu massage also focuses on the rotation and stretching of joints, limbs, and pressure points.
