Trigger Point Massage

Trigger Point

A trigger point is more commonly known as a “knot” in the muscle. This type of massage will focus on the knot, applying direct pressure in order to help release the trigger points. Because of the deep pressure needed to release the muscles, a full hour is needed for a trigger point massage.

Trigger point massage therapy is used to help relieve the pain of the knot by using cycles of pressure and release in the area of pain. You will be asked to do breathing exercises throughout the massage, as well as to help our massage therapist identify the exact location of and level of pain caused by the knot.

Because it’s so isolated in one area, you will begin to feel the benefits of trigger point massage after only one or two sessions. If you suffer from chronic trigger point pain, regularly scheduled massages can help keep the pain and the knots at bay, allowing you to feel comfortable and pain-free.
